SHB ESTATE 'EL BORBOLLON'
El Salvador is a highly coffee dependent country, not only in its consumption but also in a century long tradition of coffee farming and processing. The near perfect growing and climatic conditions have been the base for high quality Arabica Estate Coffees which have withstood the winds of time and war.

Artist depiction of coffee as environmentally necessary productEl Salvador has an experience in coffee that dates back to the last century which converted the country's coffee technique and culture into an art-form where traditional methods have been preserved from generation to generation.

It was over 100 years ago that the Alvarez family first set foot on the shore of El Salvador and was captivated by the country's beauty, mild climate and rich soil.

With coffee seeds brought from their native Colombia, they started to plant coffee on the slopes of the Santa Ana Volcano. Years of labor transformed the virgin land into a beautiful coffee plantation. Today, the fourth generation continues to hand pick and process the coffee with the same careful methods of their forefathers, producing a rich coffee, year after year.

Topographically one of the most beautiful coffee producing countries, Salvador's coffee is almost 90% Bourbon, Typica and Hybrids thereof, such as the Pacas Variety. Coffee is an integral part of the Salvadorian culture and we are fortunate to share in their pride and enthusiasm.
