WOOD VALLEY ESTATE
On the Southeast base of Mauna Loa volcano, grows one of Hawaii’s best coffees, Wood Valley Estate. Grown at slightly higher elevation, 2’250 feet, this Estate is located in the Kau district. At the turn of the century, John Wood built camps for workers to live in, hence the name. Overlooked by many, Wood Valley has a unique water source which enables access to free water irrigation in the dry season (May - July). This water source of natural tanks embedded in underground lava is replenished during the rainy season. The farmer is modest to the quality of this coffee, which we have rated as one of the finest Hawaiian Coffees we have cupped. The cup quality is fantastic and quite pronounced with body and depth.
